Selection Criteria

In order to ensure samples collected by The Repository can benefit research, there are several selection criteria for participants:

1. A child (proband) diagnosed with T1 or cT2 diabetes (by a Paediatric Endocrinologist);
2. The proband was diagnosed with diabetes less than 35 years old for T1D;
3. The proband was diagnosed with diabetes less than 18 years old for cT2D;

The following disorders are not present in the proband:

1. Maturity onset diabetes of youth (MODY);
2. Mitochondrial DNA 3243 mutation;
3. Type A insulin resistance;
4. Leprechaunism;
5. Rabson-Mendelhall syndrome;
6. Lipoathrophic diabetes; and
7. Secondary DM (e.g. Secondary to Cystic Fibrosis).
